this week's edition of tech news involves computer hardware scams. earlier this week i received a phone call at my qth from a cousin which i will not name in this broadcast saying, that some people have been calling verious phones in and around the united states of america and canada, claiming often to be representatives from the microsoft corp devision of windows technical support. when the caller calls a number, he or she will often ask the call taker to get in front of his or her computer. once in front of his or her pc, the caller will then give instructions on how to clear up a virus when there really WAS NOT a virus to start with. once the user signs on to the internet, that gives the caller the power to overthrow that victem's connection! causing all sorts of crap to flow through the system, eventually knocking the modem offline. bottum line guys, if u ever receive a phone call from 425-988-1533, do not take it, nor call it back because sometimes it's a recording, and other times it's the scammers that come on the line. do not take calls from this number, nor even call it back even if you ARE curious.

according to pc world news, i read that there are two bills being passed through the legislature. they are pipa, "protect intellectuall property act" and SOPA "stop online piracy act.". that means, if these two bills pass, that could mean the end of cyberspace as we know it, along with the end of the world in the respect for computers as several sites could be effected including KC9CPX.Yolasite.com. the RIAA states that by passing this kind of act into law, the government will then have the power to censor the web by adding blocks to various popular websites such as www.youtube.com, www.hulu.com, www.netflix.com, www.wikipedia.com, www.tv.com. and www.tumblr.com to name a few along with www.facebook.com and www.twitter.com/ HERE IS WHAT THE GREEDY GOVERNMENT HAS TO SAY ABOUT THE SO CALLED BILLS THEY ARE WORKING ON!
